And the new historical character is…….
In this post, I will be sharing my thoughts on Courtney’s entire collection, starting with the doll her self.
Here’s the doll. Isn’t she pretty? She has the classic face mold, light skin, and spiral curly blonde hair with sideswept bangs. She comes with her first book, Courtney Changes the Game.
Her meet outfit includes a tank top, a crop top, a denim skirt, hot pink tights, a pair of white faux leather boots with scrunched tops, and a pink hair tie.
Her hair comes in a high side half pony tail. Overall, I think that this is a super cute meet outfit.
Here are her accessories, which includes a pretend cassette player, a pair of colorful headphones, a cassette tape that really works when inserted into the boombox that comes with her sleepover set, a case to store her tape in, four different colored plastic bangle bracelets, a tube of pretend lips smacker lip balm on a cord to wear around her neck, and a plastic button that says “Maureen for Mayor”.
I think that this set is pretty neat, I really like the bracelets, and the headphones and cassette player and tape were a nice touch. My parents were kids in the 1980’s, and it’s hard to believe that that’s actually what they had to use to listen to music back then! Am I like, growing up in a different time period than them or something?😉
Here are Courtney’s pajamas. Three words: I. LOVE. THIS. This is probably one of my favorite things in Courtney’s set! It actually is a lot like something that I would wear to bed! And those socks look soooooo soft! And I absolutely love the fact that they also give you another hair tie! If you are thinking about getting Courtney, this outfit is a must have!
This is Courtney’s sleeping bag set, which coordinates with her pajama set. This set and her pajamas as well are both Care Bear themed, which is cool because the Care Bears were really popular in the 1980’s. That little stuffed Care Bear is sooooooo cute! I think that it was really nice detail that they put a real zipper on the side of the sleeping bag. Most of the doll sleeping bags that I’ve seen don’t have that. This set is really cute, but it retails for $36! And you only get three things! Personally, I think that a more reasonable price would be something like $25. I know it’s not that much less, but that’s just how I feel.🙂 I can see a lot of people buying this though!
Now we have come to Courtney’s sleepover accessory set. This set includes the boombox that I told you about earlier and comes with four more cassette tapes that have two songs each on them that the boombox really plays! The fruit punch cans are cool because the dolls can really hold them! The tortilla chips and the cootie catcher are cute and so is the friendship doodle book and pen. I would probably be using the doodle book a ton with my dolls, as well as the pen too. This set retails for $50, but you are probably mostly paying for the boombox for that price. I think that this set should really be sold for $40.
Moving on to her school stuff. Here is Courtney’s PAC-MAN lunch set. Oh, yeah, did I forget to mention that she’s a gamer who loves PAC-MAC? The part about her loving PAC-MAN is cool, because it was really popular in the 80’s and plus, I like PAC-MAN too. But to be honest, I am not a big fan of the lunch box. It just seems to have um….too much, PAC-MAN? I like the rest of the set though. My dolls would probably use the food a lot. And I have to admit that the thermos is kinda cute. If I do decide to get Courtney, I probably will end up getting this set at some point.🙂
Here are Courtney’s school supplies, which just happen to be my most favorite AG school supplies ever! This set includes a three ring binder, paper, three pretend pencils, two folders, a pencil and eraser case with a pretend pencil sharpener, puffy stickers, and three different shaped erasers.
I absolutely LOVE the fact that it comes with a binder, because I love using binders too! Also the paper and folders can be put into the binder as well! The pencil case looks fun, and I LOVE those erasers! There’s a pink cat, a blue dog, and a orange rhino! The puffy stickers look super cute too! I will definitely be buying this at some point!
Now this set looks fun! This is Courtney’s Caboodles and hair accessories kit. Caboodles were popular in the 80’s, but they didn’t come out until 1987, and Courtney’s year is 1986! But maybe her second book will take place in 1987, and she will get this set then. This set includes a pink and teal Caboodles beauty case, a pretend can of hair spray, a white hair pick, two hair ties, a plastic green banana clip, a pink lace bow, a pretend makeup compact, an applicator brush, and nail stickers.
Ok, is it just me, or does this girl seem to have a lot of hair ties? I guess if I ever decide to get Courtney she’ll be wanting me to do her hair a lot!😉 The pretend makeup and hair supplies look fun, and so does the nail stickers. My dolls would probably use this set a lot!
And now we have come to my most favorite item in Courtney’s collection! Courtney’s Pleasant Company doll! Now in case you didn’t know, 1986 just happens to be the year that Pleasant Company come out with American Girl Dolls! This set includes a mini Molly, a classic Pleasant Company box to store her in, a miniature version of Molly’s fist book Meet Molly, and a mini version of the very first Pleasant Company catalogue! I think that it was a great idea to include a miniature version of one of the original Pleasant Company dolls in her collection! I am defiantly going to be buying this! I rate this set five out of five stars! Way to go AG!
Now on to the big ticket items! Like I said earlier, Courtney is into video games, and loves PAC-MAN. So obviously they just had to make a PAC-MAN game for her collection! I think that this item is pretty cool because it resembles a PAC-MAN arcade game from the 1980’s, and you can really play it! But it cost $150 though, so it will probably a while before I decide to buy this item. This item is on preorder right now, and will be available on October 2nd.
And now we have come to the biggest (and most expansive!) item in Courtney’s collection! This is Courtney’s bedroom set, which is $225. I absolutely love this set, and all the colors are so fun! The only thing that is confusing to me though, is the fact that Courtney’s older stepsister sleeps on the bottom bunk, and that’s where they put all the cool decorations! That just makes absolutely no since to me! I still like this set though, and love all the cool stuff that it comes with! You can’t really see it that well, but there is also a spot to hang clothes at the back of the bed. This is probably one of the coolest looking doll beds I’ve ever seen!
Well, that’s about it! I hope you all enjoyed hearing my thoughts on these new products! Next time I’ll be sharing my thoughts on Courtney’s mix and match sets!
Good Bye for now!
