The Haunted Scarecrow ~Part One~

Hey everyone! It’s Jaffa here, and I’m back with a new photostorie! I’m just going to go ahead and warn you all that this will NOT be nearly as scary as the title makes it sound! And so, may I present to you my Halloween, and Thanksgiving Special:

The Haunted Scarecrow ~Part One~

It all started on a chilly Thursday morning, just two days before Halloween. Linda had just finished getting dressed when her phone rang.

Linda picked it up and answered it.

“Hello?” she asked, suddenly thinking that she heard muffled laughter on the other end.

“Hi, my name is Sam Parker, and I-

“Ethan, I know it’s you,” Linda said just before she hang up.

Linda sat down to fix her hair and sighed. Ethan had been doing a lot of prank calls lately. It was actually pretty funny at first, but after you receive a call more than once, it starts to become pretty old.

After Linda fixed her hair she headed downstairs to the kitchen. The house was unusually quite this mourning. Tenny had a concert in Nashville, the night before, and Linda and Ethan had decided not to go. While it may be fun to not have to hear the voices of people telling you to wash the dishes, or clean your bedroom, it can also get kinda boring being the only girl in the house.

Maybe I can see if Rachel is home, thought Linda. If she is, I could go hang out at her place, and we could- *CRASH!*

Linda raced into the kitchen. Glass shards nearly covered the entire floor.

“Ethan! What happened?!”, Linda cried.

“Well, I, uh, kinda maybe, dropped the glass?”, said Ethan

“Um, yeah I can see that,” Linda said frowning. “Shouldn’t you clean this up though? You know, before the others get home?”

“Oh, uh, yeah,” said Ethan. He leaned over and started picking up the glass.

After Ethan had cleaned up his mess, he and Linda went outside to eat breakfast.

They set out a picnic blanket underneath a nice shady tree, and sat down to eat.

“So, Linda,” said Ethan, while chewing a bite of his apple. “What are you planning on being for Halloween this year?”

“I’m not sure yet,” Linda said. “Have you decided yet?”

“Well, I wanted to be Darth Vader, but Mom wasn’t able to find one in my size, so I’m still deciding between Luke Skywalker, and very boring Prince Charming,” said Ethan.

“Prince Charming?” Linda asked giggling. “Since when do you want to dress like somebody from a fairy tail?!”

“Since Tenny said that she would pay me twenty dollars for it,” Ethan replied.

“What?!” Linda yelled. “Why on earth is she going to Pay you to dress like a prince for Halloween?!”

“Well, it’s not Just for Halloween,” said Ethan. “You see, the mayor asked Tenny to put on a play for the city’s kids this year. They’ll be performing it at city hall, a few neighborhoods, and the children’s hospital. Tenny said that the play will be including characters from fairy tails, and nursery rhymes. And I’m guessing that they decided to have Prince Charming in it, because that’s who Tenny wanted me to be in it. But I said that I’d rather not be in it all! But she really wanted me to be in it, so that’s where the twenty dollar deal came in.”

“Hmmmmm,” Linda said nodding. “So I guess that’s why it’s kind of hard to decide uh?”

“Yep. And I only have less than twenty four hours to decide, or else Tenny passes the deal to the next person!” said Ethan.

“Well, maybe the best way to decide is to figure out what the pros and cons are for both choices, and then decide?” asked Linda.

“Um, how, would I do that? Exactly?” Ethan asked.

Linda grabbed her notebook and started drawing something in it.

Then she ripped the page out and showed it to Ethan.

“Ok, so what you’re going to do is just simply write down all the pros and cons and than after you’ve filled out the chart, Hopefully you’ll be able to make a finale decision a bit easier, ” said Linda.

“Ok,” said Ethan.

It only took Ethan about two minutes to fill out the chart, and when he was finished, this is what it looked like:

“Um, ok, so I’m guessing that you’re going to be Luke Skywalker?” asked Linda.

“I, guess, so,” said Ethan. “But what about the twenty dollars? I mean, I could really use that you know.”

“On what? Star Wars Lego sets? Ethan, you already have like, a million of those!” said Linda.

“Ok, first of all I don’t have a million of them, I only have like- *SNAP!*

“What was that?” Linda whispered.

“It’s probably just some animal- *SNAP!*

“Pretty loud animal,” said Linda.

“Maybe we should check it out?” Ethan whispered.

Linda nodded.

They carefully crept forward towards the bushes.

“H..h…hello?” asked Linda.

“Linda, don’t say anything to it! It might be a-

“MONSTER!!!!” Linda screamed.

“Exactly- Wait. What?!” said Ethan.

He quickly turned his head towards the bushes.

Something big and scary was coming out of them!
